Let’s Be Honest…
You didn’t work your way up through dental operations just to babysit schedules and chase down no-shows.
At a certain point, the job becomes less about keeping the wheels on… and more about redesigning the whole machine.
You start seeing throughput issues before they hit the dashboard.
You know which bottlenecks are “just how it’s always been”… and which ones are fixable.
And you’ve probably thought more than once: “If I had the authority, I’d run this very differently.”
This is that seat.
Why This Role Is Different
This isn’t just another “multi-site ops” role with a bigger title and the same problems.
This is a senior leadership position overseeing one of the largest ambulatory dental programs in the country, embedded within a rare and powerful combination:
A preeminent academic medical system paired with a nationally ranked FQHC network that consistently sets the standard for access, quality, and scale.
Translation?
You get the infrastructure, resources, and clinical depth of academic medicine…
combined with the mission, reach, and real-world impact of a best-in-class community health system.
It’s the kind of platform where operational leaders don’t just manage — they build, optimize, and scale something that actually matters.
What You’ll Actually Be Doing
At the core, you’re the person who makes sure a large, complex dental operation doesn’t just function — it performs.
You’ll lead day-to-day operations across multiple Family Health Center dental sites, working closely with the Associate Dental Officer to align strategy with execution.
That means owning the full operational picture: budgets, staffing models, scheduling flow, site logistics, and performance management — and knowing how all of those levers interact.
You’ll guide and develop site leaders and managers, creating a culture where accountability is clear, expectations are high, and people actually feel supported (not micromanaged).
On the numbers side, you’ll track and act on KPIs that matter — visit volume, access, revenue cycle performance, and cost control — using data not just to report outcomes, but to drive smarter decisions in real time.
You’ll also partner closely with revenue cycle teams to tighten up billing accuracy and reimbursement, while ensuring all sites stay ahead of regulatory requirements and quality standards.
And just as important: you’ll help shape the patient experience — improving access, addressing pain points, and making sure the system works as well for patients as it does on paper.
The Kind of Leader Who Thrives Here
This role is built for someone who is:
- Comfortable operating at both 30,000 feet and ground level
- Fluent in the language of KPIs, workflows, and margin — without losing sight of people
- Experienced in multi-site healthcare or dental operations, ideally in complex systems
- The person others rely on when something actually needs to get fixed
- Direct, thoughtful, and able to hold teams accountable without burning them out
You likely bring 7–10 years of leadership experience in healthcare or dental settings, along with strong financial and analytical instincts. A Bachelor’s degree is required; a Master’s is a plus.
Schedule & Structure
This is a Monday–Friday, daytime leadership role, with oversight across multiple sites within a Brooklyn-based network.
Compensation & Environment
You’ll be stepping into a very competitive executive compensation structure, within an organization that is deeply invested in both patient care and employee growth.
Beyond compensation, this is a place that offers:
- A mission-driven environment with real community impact
- The backing of a top-tier academic system
- The scale and reach of a nationally recognized FQHC network
- Strong benefits, wellness programs, and long-term career development support
Bottom Line
If you’re looking for a role where you can lead at scale, fix what’s not working, and build systems that actually perform — all within a platform that offers both real resources and genuine mission — this is a rare opportunity to step into a seat where your impact will be visible, measurable, and meaningful.
If this looks like something you’d want to explore further, I’d be glad to connect.
