Site Director, Ambulatory Care

Bronx, NY · Onsite · Direct Hire · Full-Time

Overview

If you’ve ever rebuilt a scheduling template at 7am because your 3NA crept past fourteen days, you already speak this language. A well-established FQHC network in the Bronx is looking for a Site Director who’s done the real work of ambulatory operations — not just managed it from a dashboard, but actually lived inside the access metrics, the provider productivity conversations, and the slow grind of no-show reduction until the numbers move.

This role oversees a 23.1 FTE team across primary care and specialty services, including 6.1 provider FTEs, and sits squarely at the intersection of clinical operations, front-end workflow, and revenue cycle performance. The scope is broad by design: session utilization, same-day access, referral capture, leakage reduction, community outreach, internal referral development — it’s all on the table. So is the people side, which in a network this size means coaching, accountability, cross-training, and the occasional escalation that lands on your desk right before lunch.

What You’ll Own

The Site Director owns day-to-day operations across the network’s ambulatory care sites, with direct accountability for scheduling workflow integrity, template optimization, front-end registration, and provider productivity. Volume growth is an active responsibility — this leader is expected to move the needle on referral capture and leakage reduction, not just monitor it. Regulatory compliance across HIPAA, Joint Commission/CMS, PCMH standards, and FQHC-specific workflow requirements is maintained continuously, not reviewed quarterly. Performance management runs through Excel, action lists, and operational dashboards, with an eye on KPI trends that actually drive decisions.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s in Healthcare Administration, Public Health, or Business Administration strongly preferred
  • 5–7+ years in ambulatory operations with multi-provider clinic oversight
  • 3–5+ years of direct supervisory experience — coaching, accountability, conflict management, and cross-training all apply
  • Hands-on experience across primary care, specialty services, registration/front-end, scheduling workflows, and revenue cycle
  • Fluency in 3NA reporting, template optimization, no-show reduction, session utilization, and same-day access management
  • Working proficiency in Excel, productivity dashboards, and operational KPI analysis

Preferred Qualifications

  • FQHC experience, with working knowledge of PPS/APG billing structures
  • Demonstrated volume growth work: referral capture, leakage reduction, internal referral development, and community outreach
  • Familiarity with PCMH standards and FQHC compliance workflows

Compensation

Competitive six-figure range — discussed during the search process.

Why This Role

  • Real operational scope — primary care, specialty, revenue cycle, and access strategy all under one roof and one leader
  • A patient population and community that actually need what a strong site director can deliver
  • Mission-driven organization where the work has weight — this isn’t a placeholder role
  • The kind of complexity that keeps good operators engaged, without the chaos that burns them out
