Let’s Be Honest…
You didn’t go through residency to spend your life buried in admin work or stuck on an unpredictable, all-consuming call schedule.
But you also didn’t train to walk away from obstetrics entirely.
This role threads that needle — offering meaningful, hands-on OB experience without the chaos, alongside a high-functioning outpatient practice where you can actually build relationships with patients (and leave on time — most of the time).
The Opportunity
This is a full-scope OB/GYN Generalist position within a well-established academic primary care network serving one of Brooklyn’s most vibrant and multicultural communities.
You’ll split your time between ambulatory women’s health clinics and structured Labor & Delivery coverage — with a schedule designed to be both predictable and sustainable.
The clinical environment is exactly what you’d expect from a top-tier academic system: collaborative, well-supported, and built around delivering high-quality care to a diverse patient population.
Clinical Responsibilities & Schedule
Your week is anchored by three clinic days in Brooklyn. The outpatient practice is focused on prenatal care, postpartum care, and general gynecology, with a steady flow of patients that keeps your skills sharp without feeling like an assembly line.
Your obstetrics work is intentional, not overwhelming. You’ll take on two 24-hour weekday L&D shifts per month, along with one 24-hour weekend shift, and a biweekly call rotation. These are in-house shifts within a structured, team-based Labor & Delivery environment — meaning you’re never operating in isolation, and support is always within reach.
The result is a role where you stay fully engaged in obstetrics, maintain procedural volume, and still have a life outside the hospital.
Why This Practice Stands Out
This isn’t just another clinic-and-call setup.
You’ll be part of a large, academically affiliated primary care network that combines the resources of a major medical system with the accessibility and continuity of community-based care.
The patient population is diverse, multilingual, and medically interesting, offering both professional fulfillment and the opportunity to make a real impact.
And importantly — the infrastructure is there:
- Coordinated support staff
- Integrated specialty backup
- Efficient workflows that respect your time
In other words, it’s a place where things tend to work the way they’re supposed to.
Compensation & Incentives
Compensation is positioned above the median for comparable roles and is designed to reward both clinical engagement and long-term commitment. In addition to base salary, physicians can earn up to $45,000 in incentive compensation through a balanced model that includes outpatient productivity, new OB visits and delivery volume, quality metrics, and longevity within the organization. There is also a $2,600 annual CME allowance, along with additional earning potential for those who choose to take on extra clinic sessions or Labor & Delivery shifts. The role is also eligible for medical school loan forgiveness programs, adding meaningful long-term financial value.
Qualifications
- Board Eligible or Board Certified in Obstetrics & Gynecology
- Active (or eligible) New York State medical license
- Bilingual skills (Spanish, Arabic, Mandarin, or Cantonese) are highly valued
Is This For You?
