A respected academic health system is on the hunt for a bold, energetic, and yes—slightly masochistic—leader to take the helm of its Adult Psychiatry Residency Program. If you’ve ever secretly enjoyed an ACGME site visit (or at least didn’t flee the room), this role could be your sweet spot.

This innovative, community-based program is seeking a Program Director who can juggle clinical care with administrative oversight in a neat 50/50 split. Think of it as half brains-on-clinic, half brains-on-spreadsheets. You’ll be working alongside an Associate Program Director to ensure the curriculum is airtight, the didactics are sharp, and the rotations actually resemble what psychiatrists do in the real world (from inpatient work to addiction care).

What’s on your plate?

  • Steering the ship on all things ACGME and RRC (because “compliance” is every PD’s love language).
  • Designing and overseeing a curriculum that makes residents competent, compassionate, and not afraid of psychotherapy.
  • Making recruitment season slightly less like speed dating and more like building a dream team.
  • Ensuring duty hours are followed without feeling like Big Brother is watching.
  • Championing resident well-being, inclusion, and belonging in a program where community psychiatry isn’t just a buzzword, it’s the foundation.

On top of this, you’ll mentor residents in scholarship, spearhead innovations in training, and occasionally field questions like “Why do we have to learn psychodynamics?” with a straight face.

Who You Are

  • MD or DO with board certification in Psychiatry.
  • A track record in medical education and curriculum design.
  • Leadership chops (translation: you’ve run programs, designed rotations, or at least know how to survive a committee meeting without losing your mind).
  • Passion for community psychiatry and advancing health equity.
