This Psychologist role is at a New York City healthcare system with value-based system serving a diverse patient base.
It’s also an academically-oriented Nursing organization that practices an evidence-based model of medicine in a Just Culture environment.
They are seeking a dynamic and personable Psychologist to join their Emergency Department. This role entails the evaluation and assessment of psychiatric patients, managing crisis situations, and effective communication with both family members and outpatient providers. Documentation is crucial, as is the coordination of educational and supervisory roles with psychology externs, medical students, and resident psychiatrists. You would also be a vital bridge between the ED and the inpatient psychiatric units.
Beyond the immediate clinical duties, you would contribute to the training and development of future Behavioral Health professionals. This includes supervising externs, and leading seminars and case conferences.
